About This Project

The Aperture Lamp is probably one of the most luxury lamps on earth. 30.000 hand-inlaid Swarovski crystals reflect the indirect light and shines through a brass aperture. This very impressive, one off made, polished stainless steel lamp has been fitted with a 100cm wide brass aperture, which can be opened en closed by hand (remote controlled can be made on demand for additional charge) Inside the lamp, 30.000 Swarovski crystals reflect the light, that comes from a Led lighting system (one of the newest generations of warm led lighting) and can be dimmed with a dimmer, which is integrated on top the tripod. The tripod comes from an antique drawing table and has been painted with black car paint. The lamp can be adjusted in height by a hydraulic foot pedal. With the aperture the beam of light can be adjusted from a narrow beam to a wide angle beam. The Aperture Lamp is completely handmade by Dutch Designers Barbiers Originals & Stef van der Bijl. The Aperture Lamp is located in a gallery in Dubai and can be viewed on demand.
